The Path of Shibari

Polo Cosme is the rigger of the Erotic Museum of Barcelona. He has already carried out more than 100 performances, and his show has been seen by thousands of people.

Polo began as a rigger for photographic sessions with numerous models in Switzerland and France. The opportunity to work with many different people and artistic settings allowed him to gain invaluable experience.

His aesthetic approach can be seen in his photographs, where the beauty and sensuality of women, conveyed through his images, have made him a recognized photographer. His work has been exhibited in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, France, and Spain.

Before discovering rope work, Polo pursued professional activities that facilitated his learning and creative development on the path of shibari. He was an instructor of Hatha Yoga and dance — disciplines that gave him a deep understanding of bodywork, aesthetics, artistic expression, and interpersonal connection.

In shibari, Polo is self-taught. His training is the result of meticulous and methodical observation of the techniques and creations of the old Japanese masters, as well as the famous Western riggers — all supported by consistent practice and the experience gained from each performance.

The show presented by Polo is imbued with deep eroticism, which reveals itself through an intimate connection with his model.

Maïna, the model, is an artist of Hungarian origin who, beyond her natural beauty, is a high-level instructor of classical and sports dance. These qualities give the performance moments of great emotional and physical intensity.

The show alternates poetically between delicacy and complicity, and passages of extreme physical demand for the tied person.
